Other than Shopping...

So besides all the shopping I got done over the weekend...

The trip to Austin was nice aside from the expo. Even though it's pretty close, I'd never really been there before. We drove through town and I just loved it. So many shops and stores and bars...everything looked so cool. All these funky signs and things:) I would really like to go back and just walk around downtown and see more. It was all so pretty and green. Lots of parks. We even saw a few birthday parties going on:)

So after the expo we had lunch and then checked out the Hobby Lobby there and the Jo Ann's Superstore!!! On the way into town I just had to stop in at my fave place...911:)

When we got home we tried calling Steve's mom, but couldn't get a hold of her. She watched the kids that day and had to go to church so she took them with her. So we just went ahead and headed out to dinner and drinks:)

Afterwards we headed to my inlaws. Besides going to church they had gone to the movies and out to eat during the day. Victoria had two little friends over that live across the street from my MILs. When it was time to go, she decided she wanted to stay the night and her to little friends stayed over too. This was her first ever sleep over!!! Mattie stayed as well so we came back home and picked up some clothes for them and then came back home and watched some TV and went to bed pretty early.

Sunday started out pretty good. Got to sleep in with the kids gone:) We had breakfast and read the morning paper. Then we talked to my MIL who suggested we take in a movie:) We went to the first showing of the day at Huebner and watched Blades of Glory. It was really funny. Although I think it's really more of a guy movie cause Steve laughed like a crazy person...(rolling eyes). I mean, it WAS funny, but come on...

We met the kids and my inlaws for lunch where Victoria had brought another one of her little friends who live across the street from my MILs:)

We wrapped up our day after that. Just went to do our weekly grocery shopping. While we were in Walmart, it started pouring...just as we were getting ready to check out. I mean POURING. The sound just got louder and louder in the store and everyone just kind of stopped and looked around at each other. Thankfully, it didn't last long so we were able to get out of there pretty fast.

It was a nice relaxing weekend I must say:)

It's Raining Again...

More rain and it's supposed to rain all day:( The weekend was pretty good weather wise. I hope it dries up soon.

So we had a pretty good weekend. Saturday we drove to the expo in Austin. I was really psyched about the whole thing, but it was a bit disappointing. I expected alot more. Granted, I've never been to anything like this before, but I just thought there would be more.

There were several really great booths, just not a whole lot of new product. And there was a charge for all the make and takes:( Most of which were $3-$4.

I did find a few things I had been wanting and didn't want to pay a shipping charge, but I just didn't spend as much as I thought I was going to. I only spent $39!!! Here's some pics of the things I picked up there:

There was a booth with tons of big bins and everything was 1/2 off. I found all these MME Bohemian rubons!!! There was tons more and I meant to go back and get more, but I forgot:( They were only about 65 cents!!!

LOVE chipboard especially the Plain Janes. They were out of the arrows and the stars:(

One of the booths had this cute little gumball machine that was full of these buttons!!! I got four quarters worth:) Too cute:)

Lots and lots of Scenic Route:) I had REALLY been wanting these cardstock arrows. I got all three sets and some papers from a few different lines.

Serendipity papers. I just love that cute little owl:)

We were each given a ticket to fill out for door prizes. This is what Steve won;)

It included a plain white board book and all the trimmings to complete it. It has a western theme and I am not crazy about the patterned papers, but it's still a pretty cute kit and it was free:)

I stopped in at 911 on our way back into town and picked up these yummy goodies. I had no idea Heidi Swapp made ribbons!!! They are too cute:)

Since we finished up kind of early with the expo we did a little shopping in Austin. We went to the HL there and I found these stamps and rubons. Ours has them too though:) And the Bazill edged cardstock I picked up here in town the other day.
Last pic:) Some goodies I got in the mail. A friend over at sb.com is just starting up her ebay store and I got these fabulous flowers. I LOVE the new Prima Sprites:) They are embossed.

7. I am obsessed with my weight:(

I still need to tag seven people...I don't know if I know seven people:(

MIA...

Sorry for being MIA the last several days. Busy, busy around here. Not to mention that I kind of caught a little cold or something after the night that we did Oyster Bake:( Awful sore throat and the usual that come with:( I am feeling somewhat better today.

We had one major storm last night. It actually woke me up. All the rain and wind and crashing thunder. I was the only one awake though. The kids didn't even stir. Today looks gorgeous though:)

On Friday Victoria is having some little Fiesta themed activities at school. One is a Fiesta Float Parade. This is too cute. The kids all made shoebox floats and then they parade them around the school for all the others to see. Only the kindergartners make floats, but all grades get to come to the "parade":) So we (and by we, I mean mostly me:) have been working on this for the last couple of days. It was VERY time consuming, but this is what we came up with:

Originally Victoria wanted to do a princess float, but I was having some trouble coming up with some good ideas and this is more within the "fiesta" theme, I think:) She LOVED it.

So besides the "parade" they are also having a Fiesta party. All the kids had to bring something themed from the list. We were assigned bunuelos. For those of you who don't know what those are, they are like those cinnamon sugar crispy thingies;) I personally don't like them. WAAAAYYY too much sugar, but for a bunch of 5 and 6 years olds, I am sure it will be pure heaven:)

So Steve went to get them after Mattie's report card conference last night and he couldn't find any around our area and had to drive all the way across town to pick up the last two bags at another HEB.

I am hoping to do some scrapping today, but I'll see how far I can get with my chores and stuff.

I do have some yummy goodie pics to share of some things I picked up at Hobby Lobby the other day:

Here's two more Heidi Swapp stamps I got in from Cherry On Top. I am having such a time finding them all in one place so I have to keep getting a couple here and there. I think I ALMOST have them all:)

Friday!!!

Friday is finally here!!! Today is officially the first day of Fiesta. We are planning on doing Oyster Bake tomorrow and NIOSA on Tuesday.

I worked on a couple of things today. One was an altered project. I wanted to frame a couple of the Cosmo Crickets ads I have seen in the CK mags, but I decided to mount them on chipboard and decorate them instead. I got one finished up today and the other is halfway done. Here's the one I finished:

I also worked on a LO using my new Junkitz Extreme Boy paperz. The LO was inspired by one I saw on the Junkitz blog:)
I finally got to use one of my new Cricut carts; Stamped. I just LOVE the shorty option for the font. It gives it a kind of distressed look...LOVING it:)

We're Half Way There...

No, not the lyrics to the old Bon Jovi song although I do LOVE that song AND Bon Jovi:) It's Wednesday!!! Half way to the end of the week;) The weather here is gorgeous today unlike yesterday's rainy glummy uckiness. So far I have had a pretty good week;) I got my brand new couch on Monday. I had to go pick it up from Lal's cause my mom had them both delivered there. I LOVE it. It's so pretty and NEW:)

I caught up with an old friend yesterday which was just the absolute best. It's great finding old friends:)

I started working on this last night. I got the idea from Lal who mentioned about stamping and coloring in the images. So I did this entirely with my Autumn Leaves stamps and my American Craft and Sharpie markers. I stamped the images last night and started coloring some of them in, but I finished it up this morning. I had to let the ink dry for a while before I attempted to color in or else the ink will run and smudge:(

So here it is:

Thanks for looking:)

It Never Ends

I went to Michael's today to look for the Cricut carts that were going to be on sale today for $39.99...they were ALL sold out by the time I got there at noon!!! :( I did however find these...
I went to Walmart to have them price match the Michael's ad and I got the Stamped cartridge:)

I am thinking of going back and trying to get a different one with the ad:) hee hee

Another awesome Michael's find today and I used my 40% off coupon on it too:)

They had this is the smaller sizes as well. They also had the ric rac one which is like the zig zag edged one, but only in the small size not the 12x12. I didn't get that one though.

We got up early this morning and went out to breakfast then took Victoria to see Meet the Robinson's in 3D. We saw it last week in the regular version...wasn't that much of a difference:( Oh, well...she liked it. Gotta run and pick up Mattie from my mom's. Off for now.

Rain, Rain Go Away:(

I absolutely hate rainy, dreary days and today is one of them. Not to mention the terrible humidity...ugh:( I started on another LO I had to catch up on yesterday and finished it off just a while ago.

Pics of my daughter's first day of Kindergarten back in August. I used to embellies my good friend Ang made me in our Bag of Tags Swap a while back. I always feel like I can't do her items justice:) She made me the "a" monogram and the little decorated ruler:) I LOVE them so and I really like the way they look on this LO:) The rest of the letters in the title were cut with my Cricut; Mini Monograms. This is also somewhat of a first for me. I hardly used any kind of patterned paper; just the little strip of "school paper" at the bottom. I really like the look of the kraft paper for this. TFL

Another One for Today

OK...I got a little more caught up. I did a LO using some pics from a playdate at the park last year:) I also used some of my BG Color Me Silly; something else I hadn't really used. I got to use one of my NEW Heidi Swapp stamps on it though. LOVE those stamps.

It's Almost Friday

For some reason, I am just really looking forward to the weekend. I have just been so tired lately. I got the chance to do a little scrapping yesterday. I used pics from last Easter. I wouldn't permit myself to scrap this year's until I did some from last year:) I have one more to do today with some park pics from last year and then I want to do this year's Easter pics. Although I still need to do some of my daughter's first day of school:( That's also on my "to do" list:)

So, here it is.

I used some of the felt ric rac from Hobby Lobby and I finally got around to using my Fastenator. I've had that thing FOREVER...at least a year:( The pics are from Mommies Group Easter party.

Tuesday, April 10, 2007

Today turned out to be a beautiful day. Unfortunately, I've been stuck in the house cleaning, but it was a nice walk to pick up Victoria from school today...Well, except for the big mess at the end of the street where they are tearing up the sidewalk, but it should be really nice when they get done..and hopefully it will be soon:)

I ran by 911 yesterday after I took Mattie to his dr. appointment. I picked up some of the Junkitz Extreme Boy paperz and some Rusty Pickle Chocolate Bunnies. I just LOVE the sound of that...Chocolate Bunnies...Yuummmy and the papers are yummy too:)

Ooo, and I received some awesome goodies in the mail yesterday; my prize from our group's MM challenge. I can't wait to use some of this:)

Went by Walmart to fill Mattie's Rx and went through the craft department and found these. They are putting out all sorts of new scrap goodies. I can't wait to see what else they get in. They are clearancing alot of the older stuff, but nothing I want or would use:(

Well, it's back to the cleaning and hopefully I can do some scrapping later today or tomorrow. I feel the need to create:)

Happy Easter

We spent the morning at my inlaws. Had breakfast and just hung out. Went through a huge box of Steve's old pics from his younger days. It was quite entertaining:) We headed out to Lal's about noon. Mal bbq-ed and we hid eggs for the kids. It turned out to be a pretty nice day; not too cold.

Here's a couple of LOs I got done in the last couple of days. Hadn't had time to upload. The second one I just did last night.

I originally wanted the second LO to say Enjoy the moment and was planning on using my new Heidi Swapp stamps, but then realized I didn't have the "moment" stamp so then I opted for "Cherish the Moment". I am not too happy with the way "moment" came out:(

Latest LO

Today cooled off considerably. It was very pleasant when I went to pick up Victoria from school. Only a little rain this am, but that didn't last long at all. Turned out to be a lovely day. I'm glad. The heat was already getting to me. It's way too early to be so hot:(

I worked on this one today. It's a pic of my daughter and some of her friends at the zoo field trip last week. I cut some of the flowers with my Wishblade, some with my Cricut and some with one of my flower punches then colored them in with American Craft markers and some sharpies:) I used some of my new Autumn Leaves stamps; the journaling ones, on this LO. I am loving those stamps:) TFL

Look What My Hubby Picked Up:)

Forgot to post this. Hubby ran to HL for me yesterday and picked up all these for me (minus the jar). They were 50% off:) Can't beat that. He also picked up the pink, blue and purple felt ric rac they had there. I'll post a pic of that tomorrow:)

OMG!!!

911 got in some awesome goodies today. I had to rush over there to make sure I got some of them:) I missed out on a couple of things, but I still managed to pick up a few that I REALLY wanted;)

I only managed to get one of the Queen & Co ribbons. They were already out of the black and the pink:(

Stamp

Here is a stamp set I want Janey to look at:)

Just Another Manic Monday

Sorry I have been MIA for a few days. Last night was a long one. Victoria got up late last night with a stomache ache and vomitting:( Had to keep her home today. So I am a bit sluggish today:( She seems to be doing fine, so she should be going back tomorrow. They are off on Friday so it's a short week to begin with.

Steve and I chaparoned Victoria's school field trip to the zoo last week. It was nice. We got a group of five girls including Victoria. I got some nice pics and decided to make the girls little mini albums to remember the trip. I used my Sizzix album and insert dies to make them. I made the covers in chipboard, but the inserts are just cardstock. I hope they like them:)
