What's Going On...

The weather has been so much cooler and nicer. Saturday I went to my mom's and then to a birthday/graduation party at my aunt's house. They had a dinner for my cousin who just graduated from school for the border patrol and they also had his oldest son's birthday party. They will be moving to El Paso very soon for his job, so they had the birthday party here before so that they could celebrate with family before they left. My unlce made lasagna and it is the best!!! I LOVE my uncle's cooking:)

Sunday was chill day; just hung around the house. I went by 911 in the late afteroon and picked up quite a bit of goodies; some that I needed for a LO I started on. I got two canisters of Pressed Petals, some HS chipboard alphas, a sheet of BG Periphery that I did not have and NEEDED:), a couple of MM paints in Fall colors and a few other things:)

Monday I went to HL and bought me some nice goodies for my birthday last week. I was waiting for a good sale and this week was pretty good. I picked up the new Daisy D's cardstock stickers; some of the Christmas ones and Fall/Halloween ones, like four different punches and three packs of Cat's Eye chalk inks... I am in love with those:)

Yesterday was a catch up on my chores day. I cleaned house and made the goodies bags for Victoria's class for Halloween. Today I finished up the LO I started working on on Sunday...
This is a lift of a mini album that I saw on Two Peas. The paper is Flair; from a Thanksgiving kit. The chipboard letters are HS; family and MM jigsaw painted with MM paint; ties. The primitive silhoutte heart and the brackets are Cricut cut. Flowers are Primas; Pressed Petals and a variety of others. Also used MM In Bloom brads, some Junkitz buttonz and gingham ribbon. I used a Fancy Pants chipboard flourish to trace onto cardstock and then cut it out with my Cutterbees. I outlined with my Signo pen. I traced the scallops onto my cardstock using a sheet of Bazzill edged cardstock. The "tab" on the heart I made using a McGil punch and the word rubon on it is MM. I used Autumn Leaves stamps on the "tag" behind the title and a small P.Etc. cardstock sticker tag hangs off the ribbon with a small safety pin:)

Something else I worked on today. Finally got around to carving those foam pumpkins we got on clearance last year at M's. I had been wanting to make some "arrangements" in them like I had seen at M's, so this is what I came up with:)

K...I really need to get in the shower and go to bed. Today was not a fun morning. And the cooler mornings make it really hard to climb out of the nice, warm bed into the cold:(

Happy Birthday to US!!! :)

Today Lal and I celebrate our 36th birthday...Wow!!! 36...that's a big number:( I seriously still feel like a kid in a grown ups body:) So Happy Birthday, Lal. I hope it's a good one. I hope the kids will behave themselves today. I know that would be the best gift they could give you...Especially Mikey:)

So I got some early bday gifts from Victoria last night. I got this silver "dog tag" necklace. The dog tag has a pic of her on it. Really cute:) Also got a charm bracelet from James Avery and two charms. One says "I love you" and the other is a car key in honor of my getting my license this year:) I thought the key was for a new car...LOL...yeah, wishful thinking.

So I have the whole day free and nothing to do. I am trying to think of something. Maybe some scrapping, but I need ink for my printer. I'd like to do a little sb shopping since none of my gift included sb goodies:( Like I really need anything else. But still...it'd be nice:)

So we had our second challenge for our private site. I can't seem to find the right pic of my LO even though I have searched and searched. So here it is:

OK...in the "lost" pic the edge of the background cardstock is inked in brown so it doesn't look so plain. The paper is Daisy D's Gypsy Harvest. Hadn't really used that and the new Fall is out already:) DCWV scalloped edge cardstock, Daisy D's Fall in Love cardstock stickers and chipboard titles, Queen & Co. Felt Fusion, Colorbok raw chipboard "autumn", MM paint in Espresso, blooms and Button Ups. TFL

Saturday's Crop LOs

We cropped at 911 on Saturday. We had to leave early cause Miguel had to work the next day. We got there like at 5 and left about 9. We went back to Lal's, ordered pizza and cropped some more. We went to bed about 1pm:)

Here's what I got done...

This one has to be one of my all time faves. I lifted this off of snoopie from TwoPeas gallery. I used Mellow Papers, Bazzill cardstock, Imaginesce Bling bloom, Autumn Leaves flourish stamps, Daisy D's chipboard titles, Heidi Swapp bloom, Heidi Swapp chipboard alphas, mini brads, Primas, Scribbles, Paper Studio polka dot biggie brad, MM Heidi rubon alphas and buttons.

I was dying to work on this one. I lifted this off ScrapNKary on sb.com. I absolutely love this photo. I ordered the papers for this one online and they got here JUST in time. Papers are Elsie Roxie line as well as the cardstock Trinkets. Other supplies...textured cardstock, ribbons, Doodlebug bloom, Prima Esprit, Paper Studio polka dot button, Basic Grey flourish rubons and American Crafts Remarks.

This inspiration for this one came from someone's blog. I wish I could remember whose:( I used DCWV scalloped edge cardstock, textured cardstock, Foof A La Blackbird pp, Urban Lily pp that I cut with my Cutterbees, Heidi Swapp "moment" stamp, MM "cherish" rubon and Heidi rubon alphas to spell "the".

I think this one still needs SOMETHING. I used black textured cardstock and cut the French Twist paper with my Cutterbees. The two other patterns are French Twist as well. The other is Creative Imaginations. Also used a bit of Queen & Co. felt ribbon. I'll update this one once I add to it:)

Update on the happenings around here. Last Friday was early release. Mattie went to spend the weekend with my mom. Saturday morning we got up early and went to breakfast then Victoria and I did a little shopping at Target:) We found these really cool Max Clips that we had been looking for for her Disney MP3 player thingie. These play actual full length movies. We got the Cheetah Girls 2 and High School Musical:) Afterwards we went for a walk at the park; just the two of us:)

We had a birthday party that afternoon, so we came home and got ready. The party was at 1:30 at Peter Piper's. Afterwards, I stopped at the Big Lots next door and found these really cool Provo Craft chipboard letter tiles...too bad there was only three boxes and they were all the same color. I got them all and gave one to Lal;)

We came home and I got ready from crop. Crop night went well. Like I said, we went home early, but still scrapped at Lal's.

The next day while out and about I notice a "rash" on Victoria which Steve says he had noticed the night before. It looked pretty bad. So we get home and I get her in the bath and it seems to look somewhat worse.

The next morning was NOT good. It looked just as bad and really red and somewhat "inflamed". I am remember that she ran a fever the previous Monday-Wednesday that mysteriously just "went away" and I am looking at the "rash" and guessing she has Roseola or Fifth Disease.

I took her in so the school nurse could take a look and she guessed the same thing, but asked that I take her to the dr. and confirm just to make sure it wasn't something else that was contagious. So I was lucky enough to get her in at 11:20 and the dr. confirmed. She also said that she sounded like she was getting an asthmatic cough and prescribed some meds and a chamber (which the insurance didn't cover and was $57!!!). So I had to run and get those filled.

She was back to school the next day, but the rash comes and goes (which the dr. said it would) and today is a particularly noticeable day. It has now spread to the tops of her legs:( Hopefully it will start fading soon. This is what she looks like today...

FYI...it looks worse than it is. She's not terribly itchy or anything, but it does look really bad. At this point, when the rash erupts, she is no longer contagious. The week prior is the contagious stage which is tough, cause there really aren't many symptoms other than the low grade fever and possibly a sore throat or little bit of a runny nose. Symptoms associated with a cold or something which is what I thought it was. Which is probably how she caught it too; off someone at school who didn't know they had it either:(

A LO for Steph

The other day while IMing with my friend Stephanie who lives in St. Louis, she showed me this pic of her and her son Victor. I thought it was such a beautiful picture, I asked her if I could scrap it for her. I worked on it today and this is what I came up with. I really hope she likes it. It was inspired by a LO I saw on the veggie site by a member named snoopie. I loved so many things in her gallery and her great style. I'm sure I'll be doing some more in the very near future:) So here it is...

I used a sheet of my Bazzill Edge cardstock to trace onto the blue background cardstock and then cut it out with my Cutterbees. I did the same with the lighter patterned MME paper as well except using a smaller scallop. The papers are MME Wild Asparugus except for the text paper that is Paper Studio and the solid brown which is MME Bohemian. Oh, the blue and brown that is peeking out behind the pic is also MME Bohemian:)

I used Scribbles paints to make the circles. I used white and glitter gold. I love the look of that. Now I gotta stock up on Scribbles;) Other products...Prima daisies, Plain Janes chipboard flourishes, MM paint in Espresso, buttons, stitched groisgrain ribbon, Bazzill chip, Heidi Swapp bloom, Autumn Leaves flourish stamp and BG white flourish rubon.

TFL:)

Scrap Challenge

Today I worked on a LO for a challenge on our private site. It was my turn to host a challenge. The challenge was to use your stamps. Here's what I came up with...I used all Foof A La papers; red, black and cream as well as the buttons, chipboard alphas are Heidi Swapp. The stamps I used were my Autumn Leaves flourish stamp, my Sassafras owl stamps and my new Autumn Leaves whimsical frames stamp.

Here's a pic of some yummy Heidi Swapp stuff I picked up at 911 the other day.

And some really cool finds at Big Lots. I also found other 12x12 textured cardstock packs that are not in the pic:)
Tonight Mattie went to his first school dance:) He was really excited and came home and showered up and everything...so cute:) I remember school dances when I was in middle school. Ours were not in the evening though. They were right after school. Ah...to be young again:)
