Baby, It's HOT out here!!!

OMG!!! The heat index yesterday was like 102 and today is pretty much the same...at least it's not humid though. I can't imagine how hot we are going to get this summer:(

I went by Big Lots yesterday to get Mattie a posterboard for a school project and guess what I found??? ...

Some pretty cool BG goodies and some Inkadinkadoo stamps:) They also had the BG ribbon pack in Color Me Silly (didn't get that though). I hit two other BL stores yesterday evening, but they had nada:( I'd love to find someone who's come across some different themes at theirs cause the packs have multiples and I could swap/trade some out to get something else.

Hmmm...not much else going on around here. We did a movie over the weekend. Took the kids to see Narnia Prince Caspian. EXCELLENT movie. I LOVE, LOVE the Naria movies to far:) Went by M's for a little shopping and found some really cute shabby chic decor for 60% off!!!

Ooo, I also picked up the little mini albums kit from the Berry Sweet line. I had been waiting for that. Unfortunately the paper we picked up in the morning didn't have the M's ad/coupon in it and I paid full price for it. When I got home I checked the paper Steve brought home for the office and lo and behold...there was a coupon:( I can't wait to start on the mini albums though. They are just TOO stink' cute!!! ;)

No new LOs to share. I haven't gotten much scrapping done as of late. I have an early appointment tomorrow morning at the car dealer to get a light fixed on the car and have it detailed:) I gotta head out there as soon as I drop the kids off at school. It didn't occur to me when I made the appointment that I'd have to rush over there. I was just thinking that the earlier the appointment, I wouldn't run the risk of getting back late to pick up the kids. Just gotta make sure I get up a little earlier so that we can run a little ahead of schedule:)

TGIF and a BIG "happy dance";)

Today was a big day for me. I went car shopping and at 36 years old, I bought my first car:) OK...I did only start driving last summer, so I guess that's not too bad. It's not a brand new car, but it's a step up from the van I was driving before. Take a look:

It's a 2001 Chevy Blazer:) Victoria keeps commenting on how "shiny" it is...LOL. She was SUPER excited and thanked me like a bajillion times. You'd have thought I bought HER the car...LOL

More news...so there was this cat hanging out in our backyard. I was feeding it every now and then; when I'd catch it outside. The last time I went grocery shopping I picked up some cans of food for it. So the last week or so, I had been feeding her more regularly. Well, this past week "my" kitty started bringing me some nice little "presents"...ah ha...The first day she brought me a squirrel. Yesterday she brought me a bird. I am not liking the gifts so much:( I'd much prefer she bring me some nice patterned paper;) ...Victoria informed me that "she can't do that, Mom"...oh, well...

So now I'm not sure how I stand on the whole kitty thing. I'm REALLY not liking having to go out there and dispose of small animal remains....Can you say, "Eeewww"???

OK...I have been on a scrapping role lately. Even after completing the 7 or so LOs on our Scrapapalooza day;) I got some more done over this last week AND I didn't even do any scrap shopping this week!!! Are you surprised??? LOL So here's what else I got done:

This is a lift off one of the LOs Lal did on our scrap day. I used some pics of V at Sea World:) Ppaer are MME; Everyday Tango and Magnolia, I believe. The black/white polka dot is MM. Used 7 Gypsies A La Card stickers and Doodlebug Simply Sweet cardstock alphas. The butterfly is cut out of a Paper Studio paper:)This was also a LO Lal worked on. It was a lift off of 2Peas. MME Bohemain papers, Doodlebug Paper Frill, Paper Studio notebook pp, Sizzix cut chipboard scalloped frame, MM shimmer alphas and tiny alphas, Paper Studio cardstock alphas, HS chipboard heart, Bazzill eyelet edged cardstock, crown rubon and Primas from M's:)

This is the girl version to my previous LO:) All the same as above except for an HS chipboard crown instead of the rubon.
Another lift of a lift:) Creative Imaginations pp, MM Love Story, textured cardstock on back. Daisy D's postcard, MM pebble clip, HS blooms, 7 Gypsies A La Card sticker and a dimensional sticker I got in a swap:)All MME Tres Jolie pp and "title" diecut, DCWV scalloped edged cardstock, Sizzix cut stems and Primas from M's.Last one...Elijah's school pic from this year. I think he looks so grown up in it and so handsome:) It reminded me of the Kenny Chesney song "Don't Blink"...thus the title:) All pp are Wild Saffron backed by textured cardstock, MME "title" diecut and Chatterbox chipboard alphas. And here's a pic of my Mother's Day goodies I got to pick out. LOVE the Berry Sweet line:) TFL and have a great weekend:)

Happy Mother's Day!!!

Hope everyone had a nice, enjoyable, relaxing day.

We were planning to crop yesterday, but I started having trouble with my van the other day; kept stalling so I didn't want to take a chance and go too far and have the van give out on me. So we made alternate plans...

Yesterday Lal and I spent the day together. She came over about noon and we cropped all day. I got 7 LOs done and Lal got like 13 done!!! We made a little trip to the Big Lots on Bandera and got some really cool goodies; MM shimmer alphas stickers and some Marcella by Kay chipboard letters all for $1!!! Then Lal treated me to some Mickey D's...LOVE those fries;) and we came home and ate and watched part of the movie Dan in Real Life that we rented the other day. It's a really good movie; funny:)

Lal stayed until about 11pm, so we got in a full day. It was TONS of fun. I'm going to consider that my Mother's Day since today everyone was so naughty:(

We did breakfast at Denny's where the service was not very good:( After that we did a little shopping around. I went to two different Big Lots, but they didn't have anything:( Then we went by M's where I got to spend on some goodies:) They were just putting out the K&Co. Berry Sweet line I had been waiting for them to get!!! I got the 12x12 specialty pad, chipboard adhesions, borders, glitter alphas and stickers, die cuts flowers, felt flowers and some other goodies:) I can not wait to scrap with those!!!

I also got a new charm from James Avery for my charm bracelet...oh and another box of Primas (one I didn't have:)

We went for lunch at Culver's where Mom's got a free sundae today. Too bad I don't like their custard...so Steve ate it...LOL...I got me some Ben & Jerry's Cherry Garcia at the corner store. MY FAVE!!! ;)

So here are all my new LOs to share:

This is Mattie's school pic from this year. I never know what to do with the school portraits, but I like the way this turned out. I got the idea off a LO I saw on 2 Peas, I think:) Papers are Rusty Pickle School Daze, Bazzill Edge cardstock and Lil' Davis chipboard letters. This is Victoria at our last yard sale. Steve always buy her snacks and drinks to sell. She LOVES it!!! Of course, she always ends up eating alot of it...LOL. This LO was inspired by a LO from Gina's blog. Thanks, Gina...of course yours is WAY better:) Papers are Sassafras Lass, AC and MME, Jenni Bowlin artisan mini paper and Lil' Davis chipboard letters.
This one is a lift off of 2 Peas. I just fell in love with the LO and this pic was PERFECT:) The pink solid paper is MME. Either Everyday Tango or Magnolia...can't remember which one. I used some Basic Grey rubons on it. The text paper behind the pic is MME Adore. Also used a sheet from the Noteworthy journaling pad, Petaloo flowers, Amy Butler die cuts, Make it Possible gold glitter chipboard letters, May Arts lace, Basic Grey Hang Ten ribbon and a chipboard "flourish" I bought at 911 some time back. Not sure who makes it, but I "colored" it with some gold paint.Pics of me and V in a photo booth at Fiesta Texas last year:) Papers are MM Garden Party, French Twist buttons, HS chipboard hearts, alphas and crown, Sweet Treats ribbon and MM tiny alphas.Love the funky look of this one. Papers are Elsie Roxie. Chipboard flower, arrow and "title" Friends are MAMBI, used some random buttons. The frame around the pic was one that Lal printed on the computer with some Doodle font. I LOVE it. She sent me the font some time back, but I guess the idea just never occured to me. I'll definately be doing this again.
Another lift off of 2 Peas. The papers in the original LO were Indian Summer which I SO want, but I improvised:) I used some Daisy D's Attic Heirloom, BG Infuse, MME Wild Asparagus and some DCWV "text" paper. Also used May Arts lace, MME die cut, HG paper flower, Prima journaling sheet and MM Love Story buttons. The large butterflies are cut with one of my Cuttlebug dies. The smaller ones I used my Martha Stewart punches. I covered a shipping tag in some random paper and used some black ric rac as well. The birds on the branch I cut using my Wishblade. I got the image of this really cool site that had tons of nice stuff.Last one:)...Pic of V at the pumpkin patch last year. Paper are BG Mellow, die cuts are Daisy D's. I used my Fiskars Threading Water punch on the green cardstock, May Arts lace, MME die cut "title", a couple of the Prima flowers I got at M's, Foofa La button and Imaginisce crotched bloom. TFL. I'm off to enjoy some peace and quiet now that the kids are in bed:)

Where Have I Been???..

I am just realizing (looking at my blog) that I have not updated all month. It's not like I haven't been sitting here. VERY peculiar:)

Anyway, it does seem like the month went by SUPER fast. Summer is just around the corner. V is very excited about that and keeps counting the days until school is over:) I can't believe she'll be in the second grade next year and next year will be Mattie's last year in middle school!!! He'll be a Freshman the following year. OMG!!! Freaking out here!!! :)

So Fiesta has come and gone. We did one night of Oyster Bake. It was nice; ideal weather...except towards the end of the night it got pretty windy and dirt was blowing around and I got the worst allergy headache:(

We dropped an easy $100 plus there. With tickets, parking and food and drink...We met up with some friends and had a good time:)

I have spent the last two days doing yard work. Not very good for my allergies, but it hasn't affected me very much at all...Plus:) I trimmed down the hedges in front ALOT. It has made a HUGE difference. Cleaned up the courtyard. Gotta work on that soon too. Get the fountain in and those pavers out and the river rock and some plants in there too:)

Hopefully we'll be getting some nice weather so I can work out there in the mornings or early evenings. We had some really nice ones this past week. We REALLY need some rain though. I've been watering up front like every other morning after I get the kids off to school. Running the sprinkler for about an hour and a half.

We have decided that this year we are not getting Fiesta Texas season passes. We didn't use them too much last year. So we are putting in one of those metal framed pools instead. The kids will get more use out of that since they can use it EVERYDAY:) Plus we really want to limit our driving with gas prices being so outrageous.

Funny thing yesterday though. I went out in the morning and gas was $3.43 at this one gas station by my house that usually has the cheapest gas, then in the afternoon, I went by there again and the price had gone DOWN to $3.39!!! That is a first. I have not seen gas go DOWN in a while. I was tempted to fill up, but I was still a little over half a tank. No telling what the price will be today or tomorrow or ten minutes from now for that matter:)

I've also been doing some serious shopping. I SO Need to cut that out. I'd post pics, but seeing it makes it more REAL...LOL...I'll just list things I can think of off the top of my head...hee hee

Lots of really cool stuff at M's. Got two Prima paper pads (96 sheets each), 3 bottles of Primas and 3 "boxes"...YES, they have Prima stuff!!! I got all my stuff with a 40% off coupon. Can't beat that. Got lots of cool AC felt, chipboard canisters and rubons at BL for $2!!! At 911 the other night I picked up some of the Pink Paislee (they still had some:) and two of the Fancy Pants 12x12 chipboards. Hit HL and got BG paper packs; Sultry, Archaic and Periphery for 1/2 off!!! Also got the new Cogsmo line from Cosmo Cricket. Stocked up on adhesive and got a new punch. Oh...and I got two of the new Martha Stewart border punches at M's too; the lace doilie one and the zig zag embossing one. I tried them out earlier and they are WAY cool.

I've been getting some scrapping done too. Maybe not as much to justify my spending...but still:) I set a goal of completing 100 LOs for the year. I am at 43 so far. Not bad;) Here's some of my lastest...

OK...Think I'll close with this overload of LOs. TFL :)

Mid-week Update...

Last week was kind of rough. My computer went out and I couldn't figure out what was wrong with it. I was so worried about losing all my pics. I kept meaning to back them up to disc and just kept putting it off:( Boy was I wishing I'd done it...boo hoo.

We took it in to Best Buy and got it fixed (THANKFULLY). So $200 later plus another $130 for an external hard drive to back up all my pics, I am back:) SUCH a relief to know all my pics were saved. I have over 3 yrs worth of pics on here; birthdays, vacations, First Day of School...you name it. Anyway...

I think the whole computer situation totally threw me off. I'd been on a scrapping roll, but after that, I hadn't been able to get back into the grove of things until today:) I got this one done...

I used the MME Tres Jolie pad I got at HL recently. I am SO loving MME papers as of late. I used my Sizzix stem die yet AGAIN. Tres Jolie die cut and Prima daisies and MM In Bloom mini brads. The pic is of Victoria on the disc swing in the front yard. She LOVES that thing. She always has. We got those disc swings for Mattie and Stevie when they were a little younger than V and ever since V was old enough, she's loved to swing on it. When we moved here we set it up on the tree in the front yard. She's spent countless hours swinging away or having someone push her:) TFL

Twofer Tuesday...Except it's Wednesday:)

I got some scrapping done today. I was still in the shabby chic mood from yesterday so I lifted this one off of 2Peas. I had to go by 911 last night to get some of the BG Sugared papers that I needed and didn't get the last time;) So here it is:

As stated above, the papers are Basic Grey Sugared. I used a piece of some corrugated paper I bought at M's and inked with Tim Holtz Old Paper. All the inking was in Old Paper:) Used a 7 Gypsies card, MME Tres Jolie die cut, some Rusty Pickle buttons, May Arts lace, some other lace I got at J's and Glimmer Mist on my butterfly. The butterfly is Sizzix cut from chipboard. The flourish...not sure who makes that. It was in a baggie I had others in as well:( I used one of my stacking daisy punches and my retro flower punch on some Daisy D's paper to make my flower up top. White staples to hold down the lace. I think that about does it for that one.I whipped this one up later in the evening. Didn't take long at all. This one was inspired by an chipboard wall hanging someone made on 2 Peas as well. I finally used one of my sheets of MM Love...I still have two more of that one;) Jenni Bowlin bingo card, MM Vintage Hip Favoirte Findings flower, Sizzix cut flourish on the bottom, Plain Jane on top, MM paint in Asphalt on both, Paper Studio flourish rubon and some adhesive gems around the photo:) The pic was taken on the 30th of March. V lost another tooth:)

I went by HL today to get me a pearlized looking Scribbles. I used it for the butterfly antenna on the first LO and then ran to Hancock Fabrics next door real quick. I was looking for some of those like stick pins...not sure if that's what you call them...Like the Heidi Grace ones. I want some with large little "tops" in black and cream, but no luck:( I did however find a Bag of Lace for only $1.50!!! It has 10 yds. of lace; 2 yds of 5 different ones. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it. I think I might go back for some more:)

That was my day. Not much else. Add to more LOs to my goal. I think this puts me at like 28 or 29...not too sure. Gotta go check my ticker;)

Shabby Chic Challenge...

This week's challenge theme was Country. We had to do Shabby Chic. Yay!!! I love Shabby Chic. I got some of it together last night and worked on it today. It is a lift off Spinnvild on sb.com. She has an awesome gallery:) Here it is:

The pic isn't so great since it was pretty cloudy and hard to get a good one.

I used stitching, tearing, sanding and crumpling. I also did distress inking and crackle paint. My products were lace, buttons, flowers...and I forget what the last one was:)

The papers are Basic Grey Blitzen solid pp, Miss Elizabeth's light blue flowered pp, MM Chelsea's Place stamped edge pp and MME Wild Asparagus flowered pp. Also used...Bazzill paper flower, Imaginisce bloom, Marcella by Kay pearl brad, Melissa Frances vintage key hole, Scenic Route chipboard bird, Life's Journey metal accent, MAMBI Coastal accent, Sizzix cut vines, gingham ribbon and lace. TFL

Horton Hears a Who...

A must see!!! We got an early start this am and went to see the first showing. Too cute!!! We all enjoyed it:)

Yesterday Lal and I spent the day together and went shopping. We took the kids. It went rather well. Mikey was really good the whole time and even fell asleep a couple of times for a while. We went to HL (didn't buy much there), J's...didn't buy anything there, Target...bought the MM Garden Party epoxies and blooms, then went to Walmart. I had to do my grocery shopping so Lal went with me. So much nicer than going alone:)

Oh, we also hit the HL on Bandera. I got a really cool journaling stamp; 1/2 off, some Colorbok chalk inks and some bling I was going to use for a challenge, but didn't get around to it.

When we got back Mikey totally started freakin' out. I guess he had to make up for lost time:) He was totally freakin' over Squirt (our pet turtle)...:(

After we had dinner last night. I went by 911. Hadn't been there in a while. I was totally in withdrawls. Luckily I had over $50 left in store credit. Unfortunately, I spent most of it:( I have about $9 left...that's still something:)

I got some of each of the new BG lines; Cupcake, Archaic, Sultry, Sugared and Boxer. A few sheets of some new Cosmo Cricket papers, some MM with butterflies on it. Some of the new Sassafras Lass. Some Crate Static and diecuts...I believe that's what it's called. Oh...and these really cool, awesome chipboards by Tattered Angels. SO in love with them and so worth the $10.99!!! :) Oh, I also got a Maureen Frances vintage keyhole for a LO I am going to be working on for challenge this week. This week is week 8; our last challenge week.

So I came home and worked on a LO this afternoon. We ended our day out kind of earlier than usual so I had some "extra" time. Did a couple of loads of laundry too;) Here is my LO:

I started to work on this the other day, but I needed the MM Garden Party blooms that I bought yesterday:) It's a lift off 2 Peas. The paper is MM Noteworthy as is the little journaling page. I cut the letters for my title with my Cricut using the Plantin Schoolbook cart. Blooms are Heidi Swapp and Bazzill blooms, buttons are French Twist. Also used the MM Garden Party epoxies. My butterflies are made using a Cuttlebug Cut/Emboss die I got a while back at HL. I so LOVE that die!!! The pic is from Easter. The bunny is from a few years back. Victoria just grabbed it to pose with, but I LOVE how the pic turned out:)

Victoria also lost another tooth today. It had been loose for a bit and she just yanked it right out this afternoon. I think she's really looking forward to gettting some $$$ from the Tooth Fairy because she's saving up to buy the My Sims game for the Wii:)

I made chili for dinner and it was so yummy. Tomorrow is my day 7 back on my exercise/workout routine. No more "breaks" for a while. I am trying to do 21 days straight to get back on track. So far I have lost 4 1/2 lbs. Not bad for a week. Hopefully I can keep that up for the next two so that I can at least get 15 off within that period. After which I'll only have a few more lbs to lose and I am set for the summer;)

TGIF!!!

It's Friday!!! This has been a long week. I'm glad it's the weekend.

Today was a rather gloomy day. I don't think the sun came through once today. We are supposed to be getting some much needed rain, but nothing as of yet and it's a little past 6:30 in the evening.

I did a little scrapping today. I "put together" one LO. Still needs a few more elements. One of which I need to shop for first:)

The other was inspired by a LO I saw on sb.com. I always have trouble scrapping portraits or professional photos. I had been struggling with something to do with V's class pic from last year. I knew I wanted to scrap it and not just frame it like we did for the boys. When I saw this LO I was totally inspired.

The LO is pretty simple; not alot of embellies, but I really like the way it came out:) I used some old Daisy D's school line papers and cardstock stickers. The A+ is BG Recess chipboard...and that's about it;) I am at LO 26!!! :) TFL

Number 25...

I set a goal at the beginning of the year to do at least 100 LOs this year. I did number 25 today:) I'm on a roll. I just did one yesterday. That's a big deal. Here it is:

I used MM Garden party on this one. Some of the blooms are Heidi Swapp and some are Bazzill Bitty blooms...I think they are the bitty ones. The ones in the little bucket thingie;) Chipboard letters are DCWV All Dressed Up. I got those at M's on clearance for $2!!! Prima Pop Up bird and French Twist buttons. I used my Sizzix stem die again on some DCWV adhesive backed mat stack sheet. Also used that for the scalloped circle. Used my XL punch for that and my Whale of a Punch circle for the center. The flourishes are one of my Autumn Leaves clear stamp sets. That's about it:) TFL

Happy Hump Day;)

So it's half way through the week. Hooray!!! The kids went back to school on Monday. Double Hooray!!! :) Spring Break is officially over;)

I went to HL on Monday for the 1/2 off sale and they had NEW paper!!! I got a new MME 180 sheet pad of Tres Jolie. LOVE it!!! Also some new Elsie; Emma and Josie. They didn't have both of one of the packs. Can't remember which, so I still need to get the second one of that one. They only had the paper packs out so far. I hope they are getting the other embellies like they did for the Riley and Lola lines; the Trinkets, chipboards, stamps, etc. I'm gonna get out the HL at Crossroads this weekend. Lal and I are going to do some shopping on Saturday:)

Not much else going on around here. The weather has been pretty warm again. I think it's going into the 80s tomorrow. Whew!!!

I worked on a LO today using one of the pics I took of V at the Botanical Gardens. The section where they had the old houses was too cool. SO many photo ops, but wouldn't you know it...my second camera battery went dead:( I went through BOTH my batteries during the time we were there. There was a wishing well and a little "barn". So now I def have to go back:)

Lal and I had a little cyber crop this afternoon and this is what I worked on. It actually didn't take me too long either. We worked for an hour and then I spent another maybe 30 minutes on it later in the evening.

This is the second time I have machine stitched on one of my LOs and I am really liking it:) The papers are Daisy D's. One of the Fall in Love lines. I got this kit at HL. The little "diecut" came in the kit too. The flourishes and stems are both Sizzix cut out of chipboard and painted with MM paint in Chocolate. The flowers are Prima and Bazzill. Some of the centers are Prima Center Kisses and the tiny ones are some I got in the Target Dollar Spot quite a while back. The butterfly is an Autumn Leaves stamp. I stamped and cut it out with my Cutterbees. TFL

Happy Easter...

Tomorrow is Easter, so I'm getting a head start:) Happy Easter. I hope everyone enjoys time with their loved ones:)

Today was another gorgeous day. We took the kids to play putt putt golf at this place by Embassy theatres. I can't remember what it's called. We've been there once before. Anyway, the kids and I played a round. I didn't win, but I didn't lose either:) Victoria took first, I took second and Mattie was last. I keep trying to get him to slow down and not rush when he's hitting. He did manage to get a couple of good ones. Even a hole in one!!! So did V:)...not me...sniff, sniff...:)

Did some last minute Easter shopping and came home kind of early. I made spaghetti and meat sauce with garlic toast for dinner. So yummy. I REALLY need to get back on my diet/exercise routine. I did pretty good the week before this one. Right before the kids got out on vaca, but this week has been pretty bad. Monday is a new start:)

I worked on my mini challenge for Sneaky this afternoon. We had to do a LO "starring" ourself:) Had to choose at least two techniques from a given list. I chose distressing and using chipboard. I also used ribbon, so I did THREE:)

My flourishes are Sizzix cut with one of my new Bigz dies. LOVE it!!! Chipboard letters, heart and crown are Heidi Swapp as well as the two larger blooms. All other blooms are Prima. Patterned papers are Basic Grey Blush and Paper Studio (small text piece). My journaling is written on a sheet from the MM Noteworthy journaling pad. Ribbon is DCWV All Dressed Up. Scalloped cardstock is also DCWV. TFL

Spring Break...

This week the kids have been on Spring Break. Mattie spent last weekend at my mom's and V with my inlaws. Both came back on Sunday. Tuesday we met up with Lal and Lij at Crossroads. We hit HL and J's and then went to eat at Jim's.

Afterwards, Lal went with me to do my grocery shopping and we brought the kids back to my house so they could play some games on the Wii. We bought ice cream and made them ice creams sundaes and they had some donuts too:)

I dropped of Lal and Lij at my mom's and Mattie stayed over for a few days. V went back to my inlaws on Wednesday and we picked her up last night. We went out to eat EZ's and went to Target. They redid the whole sb area. I got some MM Avenue and Noteworthy papers. Too cool. They also had the new Fiskars border punch; Threading Water. Too bad I has just ordered it online the other day:( I picked up an MM paint set that I didn't have on clearance (75% off) for $3 something!!!

Today was a gorgeous day. We took V to the Botanical Gardens. I got some really good pics. We had lunch at Jim's on Broadway then picked Mattie up at my mom's. My punches were waiting for me when I got home and I played with them for a bit. Just tried them out. I can't wait to actually use them on a LO:)

Speaking of LOs. Here's my lastest for Sneaky. This week's challenge was a Broadway theme. We had to use a playbill as our inspiration:)

My papers are MME Wild Asparagus and BG Motifica. The diecut tree and quote are MME Signature Suite and the white rubon is MM. TFL

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Hope everyone had a nice day today. I spent the day doing my weekly house cleaning and catching up on some laundry.

The kids are off for Spring Break this week. Yesterday while shopping at Target and walking through the electronics aisles we stumbled across a Wii!!! There were only two and a couple of boys grabbed one first so we got the last one:) This was V's Christmas present. We had bought her the Xbox 360 which we all know was more of a gift for Steve than anything else. He had moved it into his room quite a while back and it's been there ever since. He was the only one playing it. I knew it wasn't going to be good for V since most of the games made for the system are rated M. Nintendo has tons of kid friendly games; lots more variety.

So the kids spent today playing the Wii Sports and Mattie's Mario and Sonic Olympic Games. V is loving the tennis on the Wii Sports and only since yesterday has gotten VERY good at it:)

I worked on a LO today after I took some pics of the kids in their St. Patrick's Day shirts:) It was a lift off of 2PeasI had to switch the pic out to a 4x6. I had printed out a 5x6, but while I was finishing it up, I dropped one of the chipboard alphas with glue on the back on top of the pic and it totally wrecked it:( Then I went to print another one and my printer went all wonky so I had to print offline and I can only print 4x6:( Don't know what's up with the printer. I haven't even had it for very long. I'll mess with it again tomorrow. I was just too frustrated to mess with it anymore tonight.

Anyway...the pp is Cosmo Cricket Halfway Cafe. I've had that paper forever. Jenni Bowlin bingo card, Heidi Swapp chipboard alphas, Lil' Davis chipboard alphas, chipboard #2, MM paints, Sizzix cut chipboard star and brackets, Tim Holtz Distress ink in Black Soot, Paper Studio adhesive gems and textured cardstock.

Yesterday we took V to the mall to see the Easter bunny. There was NO line at all. I guess it's not the same as Santa Claus..LOL...

Last night I saw the movie August Rush. It had been on my "watch" list. I had heard good things about it. All I can say is...OMG!!! That movie was AMAZING!!! Totally on my faves list now:)

Another fave of the moment. The new Leona Lewis song Bleeding Love...."heart" it!!!

Friday I dropped Mattie off at my mom's and V went to my inlaws so I had Saturday all to myself. Lal came over and we did some shopping. Went to HL and found some really cool new Cuttlebug embossing dies and an awesome cut/emboss die set AND they were 30% off:)

Got a really cute cotton summer dress and a cool canvas purse at Walmart. Had lunch. Went to M's and bought the Giga scalloped square Marvy punch I had been looking for...also 30% off:) It was a fun day:)

Metalheads...

My LO for this week's Sneaky Challenge. We had to use one of March's page maps and flip it on it's side. The theme was metal. Here's what I used...Heat embossed image metallic color-4 flourishes x 2pts= 8pts.
MM metallic specialty glaze (on butterflies)-1pt.
metallic scribbles paint on flowers and letters on title-1pt.
Stickles (on edge of butterflies)-1pt.
metal brads x4 small=4pts.
metal brads x2 large=4pts.
metal photo turn x2=4pts.
Total=23pts.
This was my first time embossing. I really liked it. I had gotten all this really cool embossing stuff in my Christmas stocking and hadn't gotten around to using it until yesterday:) The butterflies are Sizzix cut. I got that die at the 911 garage sale. SUCH a deal!!! I LOVE it!!! The bronze flowers are Sizzix cut too. It's the flower charms. My friend Ang sent me that one for Christmas. LOVING that one too. I've used that one to cut felt flowers already for a previous LO:)

I Got the Blues...

OK...Here's my LO for the Blues challenge on Sneaky. This was my first time doing machine stitching on a LO. I tried using this little Provo Craft sewing machine that Lal gave me, but it did NOT work:( I was just being lazy and didn't want to pull out my big machine, but I really should have instead of wasting so much time trying to get the little one to work. Once I got my big machine out, I finished in like two minutes...sigh...Anyway...here it is:

Our challenge was to use four different BLUE patterned papers by four different manufacturers. I used Basic Grey Periphery, MME Wild Asparagus, K&Co. Wild Saffron and Daisy D's. We also had to use embellishments to spell out the word "blues" and they could only be black, white, silver, gold or blue. I used a bloom, borders and a button, lace, undressed chipboard, epoxy alpha stickers and stickers and stitching. I really like how the butterfly and bloom look even though it's a boy LO. I'm really surprised at how much I like the way this came out:) And I'm really liking the look of the machine stitching. I'm pretty sure I'll be doing this again on other LOs:)

Today I spent the day with my mom. We did a little shopping. I went by M's, but didn't find the things I was looking for:( I picked up a little birthday gift for a Sneaky pal though. Went to the mall and bought the cutest little purse at Aeropostale and a new t. I LOVE that store. Me and my mom ate Chick fil A at the food court. Went to Hobby Lobby and picked up another birthday gift for another Sneaky pal. Went to Target, then Walmart, then picked up the kids and dropped my mom back off at home. It was a good day:)

And They Call it Puppy Love...

Ok...I've been wanting to work on this LO forever, but I knew I had to do it when I had time to finish it before Victoria got home from school. She'd be pretty upset if she saw it. Now I have to hide it for the next who knows how many years...LOL

I had seen this LO on scrapbook.com ages ago and had it saved to my faves cause I wanted to lift it someday. The perfect opportunity came up sometime last week when I walked into V's room and found this written on the easel in there.

Too cute. I could NOT pass up the photo op:) So I worked on the LO today. Got started as soon as I got back from the grocery store. I ran to the store as soon as I dropped off the kids so I'd have more time to do my stuff:)

This is the LO...

Justin was in Victoria's kindergarten class last year. He is just the cutest thing:) She mentioned to me several times last year that Justin had a crush on her and once she even told me SHE had a crush on him:) He's not in her class this year though, but she still talks about him now and then. I thought it was so funny that she drew that heart...Ah...young love;)

There is journaling behind the pic of a file folder. I painted the arrow and the hearts. The other letters are Lil' Davis that I'd had forever. And the "I" is from a box of All Dressed Up chipboard glitter alphas. Heidi Swapp ghost clock and bloom, ric rac and sheer polka dot ribbon. Paper is BG Two Scoops as well as the stamps I used on the pink background paper. TFL...off to hide this:)

Did Another One...

I got another one done today. This one's a lift off of 2 Peas.

The background paper is Bo Bunny. I traced the stamped edge onto the backside and then cut it out using my Cutterbees. I then stamped a border along the edge with some clear stamps I got at M's; Creative Imaginations borders. All other papers are MM Chelsea. I made my own journaling "tag" using my XL scalloped circle punch and my Whale of a Punch circle punch. Flowers are diffent Primas, buttons from the MM Love embellie container, Bazzill chipboard letters and Heidi Swapp chipboard heart. Used Tim Holtz walnut ink on the edges of two of the papers. I want to get some of those Chelsea clips to add to the top of the pic. Probably go by M's on Friday and pick some up:) Need to get a few things for a couple of friend's bday this month as well. That's all for today:)

Put To Use...

So here's a LO a crated using the papers from the Smitten pad my friend sent. I felt that I should put it to use right away:)

The background paper is Paper Studio. I used one of my Fiskars border punches to create the decorative edge:) All other papers are Smitten. I hand cut the flowers/vines and the butterfly. The flowers are Prima and the brads are MM shimmer. Also use some of my Miss Elizabeth's paper lace (much like the K&Co. paper lace:)

Saturday was the 911 Transplant Sale. We got there at about 9am and there was already a line about 30 ppl deep!!! I don't think it was as crowded as it was the last time which made it easier to browse and shop. I only spent $36 shopping the sale. Picked up like six Sizzix dies, lots of chipboard alphas and a couple of sheets of rubons.

We took in a movie. Went to go see Fool's Gold. Very funny/good movie. I LOVE Matthew McConaughey;) and Kate Hudson. I think they make such a cute couple:)

I sold pretty much all my stuff I put out at the sale. I made $129!!! Although I spent about $80 of that on all the new Teresa Collins and Jenni Bowlin stuff. Also got a couple of bottles of Glimmer Mist. Have been wanting to try those. I still have about $50 left on credit cause I hit my free $10 again:)

Sunday the kids were away from home so we took in another movie. We saw Vantage Point. Excellent movie.

Yesterday I spent cleaning up and trying to get caught up on my house chores, but I took a break to hit HL and stocked up on adhesive which is 1/2 off right now. Also used my 40% off coupons and picked up the two packs of the Creative Imaginations papers that HL is now carrying:) Can't wait to play with those:)
